Channel manager (connecting a hotel)

Upstay holds the connection to the channel manager for every hotel. Here you bind a hotel to its hotel code (issued when the hotel is onboarded with the channel manager), pick the OTA channels it sells on, Test connection, switch the feature on, and Resync now whenever an OTA looks wrong. Recent syncs lists every push, incoming booking and test with the provider’s message.

Upstay operators who can see the Hotels area.

All hotels → open the hotel → the Channel manager tab. The page also shows OTA bookings, 30 days, Room types mapped and the hotel’s Room mapping (set by the hotel).

  1. Enter Hotel code at the channel manager exactly as issued. It is unique across Upstay; a code another hotel already has is refused.
  2. Under Channels this hotel sells on, click each channel the hotel sells on. Availability and rates go everywhere regardless; this list only decides where stop-sell and minimum-stay restrictions are sent.
  3. Click Save, then Test connection. You should see Connected: with the hotel’s name and its room and rate-plan counts as the provider knows them.
  4. On the hotel’s Features tab, switch Channel manager on. This pushes the next 365 nights at once.
  5. Tell the hotel’s Admin to map room types and set OTA prices (see the hotel-side guide).

  1. Click Resync now to re-push the full year - after a bulk rate change, after reconnecting, or when an OTA disagrees.
  2. To disconnect, clear the hotel code and click Save: pushes stop, incoming bookings are ignored and logged as ignored; nothing is deleted.
  • Switching the feature off stops every push and ignores every incoming booking; switching it back on re-pushes the year.
  • The provider allows a fixed number of requests a minute across all hotels; pushes are queued and spaced, so a burst of changes becomes one push.
  • A Failed line in Recent syncs carries the provider’s message verbatim - “Invalid hotel code” and “Invalid credentials” mean what they say.
  • Test fails with “Invalid hotel code” → Re-check the code with the channel manager.
  • A hotel says an OTA booking never arrived → Check Recent syncs for an ignored or needs attention line; unmapped room categories are the usual cause.
