Payouts

For bookings that come through upstay.in or your hotel’s site, Upstay and the hotel owe each other money: online collections Upstay took on your behalf, the commission on those bookings, credits Upstay reimburses, and the settlements Upstay pays out. Payouts is that ledger - every entry, and the Balance with Upstay. Upstay records settlements; nothing here moves money by itself.

Managers and above, when Online booking is on.

Back office → Payouts.

  1. The balance at the top is the sum of every entry: positive means Upstay owes you.
  2. Each Entry is one of Online collection (a prepaid booking’s money, held by Upstay), Commission (Upstay’s share, accrued at settlement for online bookings and at checkout for pay-at-hotel ones), Credit reimbursement (a traveller paid with Upstay credit; you are made whole), Settlement (a transfer Upstay recorded, with its UTR) or Adjustment.
  3. Use Show entries or search Booking, guest or note to narrow the list, and Show 40 more for older entries.
  4. Click an entry to see it; Open booking goes to the booking behind it.

  • Commission is charged on the room price after coupons and before GST; a cancelled booking owes none.
  • This ledger is separate from your hotel’s own books in Finance; a settlement you receive is recorded there as a payment received when it lands in your bank.
  • OTA bookings are not here: the OTA settles with you directly.
  • Settlements are recorded by Upstay when money is sent to your bank. This page only shows the ledger.
  • The balance does not match a transfer → Settlements are entered by Upstay with the transfer’s UTR; check the note on the Settlement entry and contact Upstay if a transfer is missing.
