Attendance

Attendance records when people start and finish, and works out each day against the shift they were planned for: late, short, overtime, holiday worked.

The page opens on Needs you: the days that need a human before payroll can run - not on the full register. The full register is one click away.

Managers and Admins (owners) see everybody. Everybody else punches for themselves on their own Today.

Attendance in the rail, under People.

  1. Open Today.
  2. On the punch card, click Punch in.
  3. At the end of the shift, click Punch out.

The card says where you stand: in since a time, done for today, your shift has not started yet, or You are not on the roster today. You can still punch in on a day nobody planned, and it is recorded as worked but not planned, which your manager sees.

  1. Open Attendance.
  2. Stay on Needs you.
  3. Click the day you want to fix.
  4. Enter the right times, and a note saying why.
  5. Click Save.

A correction never erases what was recorded. It adds the right record beside the old one, and both stay readable.

  1. Open Attendance.
  2. Find the person and the day.
  3. Click Punch for them.
  4. Enter the time and a note.
  5. Click Save.

This leaves a record of who did it.

Click Everyone to see the full month: one row per person, one cell per day, with the hours worked.

  • A night shift is one day. Somebody who starts at 23:40 and finishes at 07:10 is recorded on the day their shift started.
  • Overtime is measured against the hours the shift pays, not the hours it runs, so a break does not become overtime.
  • A planned day is never marked absent while the shift is still running.
  • Payroll locks the days it has paid, so a finalised month cannot change.
  • “This day is locked” → Payroll has already paid that month. Fix it with a one-off entry on the next run instead.
  • Payroll says days have a punch in and no punch out → Open Needs you; those are the days listed first.
