Roomie

Roomie is the hotel’s assistant inside the guest app. Tell her what you need the way you would tell the desk - ek towel bhej do, clean my room at 2, wake me at 6, mera order kahan hai? - and she sends the request to the right team, books it, or answers from the hotel’s own information. She understands Hindi, English and Hinglish and replies in the language you use.

Anything free, such as towels, cleaning, a wake-up call or a message to the desk, happens straight away. Anything that costs money, such as food, waits for you to confirm the total.

Roomie is a character, not just a chat box. She stands in the middle of the bottom bar, greets you by name, and reacts to what you do: she points to the menu when you open Dining, holds up your key when you open your room key, cheers when your order is delivered and says goodnight when you switch on Do Not Disturb. When something covers the bottom bar, she says it from a small card at the top of the screen instead.

The primary guest, before arrival and in the hotel.

Roomie herself, in the middle of the bottom bar, between Housekeeping and Concierge. Tap her to open her sheet. You can also tap the card she shows at the top of the screen.

  1. Tap Roomie in the bottom bar. She opens with one short line: about your last conversation with her if it was in the past day (for example Housekeeping has it, Priya.), otherwise a greeting for the time of day.
  2. If the hotel has voice, she asks How would you like to talk? Tap Chat with Roomie.
  3. Type your request in the Message Roomie box.
  4. Tap Send. Roomie thinks for a moment, then her reply appears, and a tick line such as Sent to housekeeping shows what she did. She answers with a gesture that fits: a thank you makes her blush, a problem makes her say sorry.
  1. Tap Roomie in the bottom bar, then tap Call Roomie. In the chat, tap Switch to a call. Allow the microphone if your phone asks.
  2. The call screen shows Roomie large. When it says Listening… just talk, speak as you would on a phone call. When you pause, Roomie hears you, and what you said appears under her.
  3. The screen shows Roomie is thinking… and then Roomie is speaking… while she answers out loud, her lips moving with her words. Her words appear under her as she speaks.
  4. When she finishes, the screen says Listening… just talk again. Keep talking for as long as you need.
  5. Tap End call when you are done, or Switch to chat to carry on typing. You can also just say so (bas, thank you): Roomie says goodbye and hangs up once she has finished speaking. The whole call stays in the chat.
  6. If a few turns pass with nothing for her to do, Roomie says a friendly goodbye and ends the call. She never ends a call while you are upset or waiting on a problem. Tap Switch to a call to call her again any time.
  7. A call also ends by itself after a minute of silence, and after five minutes.
  1. Ask for food, for example 2 paneer tikka aur ek chai.
  2. A card Confirm your order shows the dishes and the exact total with tax. Roomie says the total rounded to the rupee.
  3. In typed chat, tap Confirm. The card says Added to your bill only when you tap Confirm.
  4. On a call, you can also just say yes to Roomie. The card shows under her on the call screen and says Say yes to Roomie, or tap Confirm.
  5. Either way the card changes to Order confirmed, Roomie adds Confirmed. Your order is placed., and the app shows Order confirmed. It is on its way.
  6. Tap Not now if you change your mind. The card shows Not ordered and nothing is charged.

How to approve a request from your own AI assistant

Section titled “How to approve a request from your own AI assistant”

If you connected your own AI assistant to this stay (see Connect your AI assistant), anything it asks for that costs money waits for you.

  1. Open your stay. A card says, for example, Claude asked for this, with the order and its total, and Added to your bill only if you approve.
  2. Tap Approve, or Decline. Declining charges nothing.
  • Roomie names dishes and services without their prices. Ask her what something costs and she tells you; when an order is ready to confirm she says its total.
  • Ask about your order or request at any time: Roomie reads its live status. If something is running late she apologises and can ask the desk to hurry it.
  • She answers Wi-Fi, check-out time and menu prices from the hotel’s own information. If she does not know, she offers to pass a message to the desk.
  • Roomie cannot check you in, take payment, or change or cancel your booking. She offers to tell the desk instead.
  • Roomie is an AI assistant. Ask her and she will say so.
  • If your phone is set to reduce motion, Roomie stays still: no movement or floating hearts, just her picture and her words.
  • Phone and ID numbers you say are hidden before anything is saved, no recording of your voice is kept, and conversations are deleted after 90 days.
  • “I need your microphone to hear you. You can type instead.” → Allow microphone access for the guest app in your browser settings, or type.
  • “Sorry, I could not hear that. Could you say it again, or type it?” → Speak a little closer to the phone, in a quieter spot if you can.
  • “That confirmation has expired. Ask me again.” → A total is held for five minutes. Ask for the order again.
  • “Voice is paused for this month. You can still type to Roomie.” → Type your request instead.
  • “Roomie is resting right now. The front desk can help you.” → Use Chat with the desk.
